about

When the Sound Universes project began to be designed, and Daniel showed me some material
he had recorded, I immediately noticed the tremendous talent and determination of that young guitarist, because all of the compositions selected for this album require an absolute technical mastery of the instrument, as well as the ability of working with very
complex and unconventional scores. With such a virtuoso performer, who moves through popular music with an incredible verve as well, I was sure the interpretation would be accomplished in an ideal way: with cleanness and precision in the written parts, along with the creativity that is needed to play the improvised parts. The diversity of the compositions is also remarkable, offering a rich, yet largely unexplored, body of electroacoustic music, each one making up
an independent sound universe, unique and full of
surprises. Considering its technical and artistic
excellence, I believe this work will become a major
reference in the contemporary guitar
repertoire.
(Lelo Nazario- Pianist and Composer)
Music is the art of expressing the meaning of sounds. This preamble is to say that the
newness contributes to the elimination of the obscurity. Without invention, life does not exist,
nothing flourishes. The poet Ezra Pound once said while discussing the poetic creation:
“Behave as a musician”. Pound alluded to the musician's discipline. Such a discipline formed
Daniel Murray. Those who saw him perform at the age of 15 at the International Guitar
Competition of Trédrez-Locquémeau, in France, knew that there was a musician on the scene.
His Sound Universes project represents the sign of his maturity, his effort, his complicity. The
inventions that make it possible for humanity to know the world and everything around us
must be embraced. We know Goya, Roberto Piva, Miró, the damned French poets, The Hour
and Turn of Augusto Matraga, Liszt. All of this fills our lives, and Daniel Murray expands our
universe by performing this electroacoustic music with outstanding competence, thus
allowing us access to the work of expressive creators. A long universe, I wish.
(Celso de Alencar- Poet)
