Balada Unidimensional (Onedimensional Ballad) is dedicated to the Brazilian guitarist Paulo Bellinati, who first recorded it in 1984 (original LP issued by Utopia Studio). The composition brings, as a consequence of the presence of the acoustic guitar as a solo instrument, a series of completely diverse materials, with predominance of concrete, unprocessed sounds, as well as a reduced series of electronic sounds, composed in a way such that allows an organic interaction in its relationship with the performer. The tape part is interwoven into the language of the guitar in terms of pitches, rhythms and dynamics, always emphasizing the
instrument's extremely subtle richness of timbre.
